2013 charity fund raising runs
George Munroe Fri 15 Mar 2013
We're just about set to start raising some funds for a selected charity again this year. We've chosen "Marie Curie Cancer Care". Some of us have had first hand experience recently of their remarkable work and the big difference they can make at difficult times.

Michael, Adrian and myself will definitely be aiming for all of the "Belfast marathon relay", "Lisburn half marathon" and "Great North Run" races. Jenny has a big question hanging over a knee injury at present. Chris Swain is coming out for a drink with us in two weeks time and we'll be coercing him to do his bit. Julie Smyth might even have a go if we can get her in the country at the right time. And Barbara might come out of retirement and don the running shoes again!
But any of you can be part of this! Run with us or donate something small to bolster the fund raising. You could run a stage in the marathon relay with us, or do the half marathon, 10K or fun run in Lisburn in June, or even go for broke and run the Great North Run in Newcastle with us in September by applying under the Marie Curie charity banner. Then it's just a matter of pointing sponsors to the online page and let me know what you're doing so that I can update the notes on the page!
If anyone wants to join in or talk about adding other events in this effort, join us for a drink in the Four Trees, Moira, Friday 29 March (Good Friday), 20:00. Or just get in touch by email or web site.
