Belfast marathon, 4 May 2015
George Munroe Wed 06 May 2015
Our marathon endeavours on Monday went very well. Weather was just about right, enough sun to make sure those of us who were waiting at a changeover point didn't get too cold while waiting, but not so hot to make the running difficult.
Michael was attempting to run the whole 26.1 miles for the first time AND HE DID, with a finishing time of just over 3:53.
We let Michael do the first two stages of the relay to give the relay team a good start.
George joined Michael at the start of the third stage for the long haul all the way up the Antrim Road. Christine took over at "Gideon's Green" (beside Hazel Bank park on the lough shore). Adrian took over from Christine at Corporation Street in town for the last stage.
George drove into town to meet and run with Michael again for the last few miles up the Ormeau Road and back down the Ravenhill to the finish at Ormeau Park. Adrian came over the line at 4:18 which sets a new team relay record for us. So everyone well pleased.
And the fund raising has now reached £1500. See:
